Over time, rings have frequently taken the form of serpents, which have long been associated with eternal life, health and renewal. Rings have also forever been emblematic of eternity. They’ve carried deep meaning since at least the Middle Ages, when diamond rings symbolized strength and other kinds of rings were worn to signify romantic feelings or to denote an affiliation with a religious order. No matter their origin or specific characteristics, rings are timeless, versatile accessories. In 2005, the Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded Vera “Womenswear Designer of the Year.Antique and vintage rings have long held a special place in the hearts of fine jewelry lovers all over the world. Since then, Vera has expanded her collections to include ready-to-wear, footwear, eyewear, fragrance, china and crystal, silver and gifts, bedding, mattresses, fine papers, luggage, hospitality and her first book, Vera Wang On Weddings. The following year she opened her flagship store on Manhattan’s famed Madison Avenue, introducing fashion to the bridal industry with contemporary designs and refined detailing. Not until after designing the gown for her own wedding in 1989, did Vera discover her love and natural talent for bridal design. She remained there for 16 years before moving to Ralph Lauren as a design director. After completing her studies at Chapin, Sarah Lawrence College and The Sorbonne, at age 23, Vera was named the youngest-ever Vogue fashion editor and stylist. Vera Wang, a native New Yorker, has loved fashion since childhood. I am thrilled to share these exclusive designs with you.
